Welcome to the Avon Federation
Avon Federation was formed in 1975, includes the vibrant cities of Bristol and Bath and surrounding towns and villages. With 93 WI's and approximately 3700 members we offer diverse opportunities to members of an increasing population. The WI is thriving in Avon which is amazing considering this area covers various administrations such as South Gloucestershire, North Somerset, Bath and North East Somerset and Bristol.
The WI is a subscription based charity and is unique in being the largest women’s charity and very well respected voice in the community since 1915. We have been campaigning since 1918 on topics such as ‘Dental Health Matters’, ‘Clean Rivers for People and Wildlife’ and ‘Thinking Differently - Autistic and ADHD Women and girls to name a few past resolutions.
Whatever your interests are we want to hear from you. We will contact you directly if you like or meet you or put you in touch with your local WI to visit yourself. Either way please contact the office email address office@avonfwi.org.uk
As a member you can also access our free WI Learning Hub from your armchair joining members from other Federations (areas) learning together.
We encourage women to visit several WIs before joining and, of course, we facilitate the opening of new WIs once a venue and a group of friends have contacted us.
