Walk along part of the Cotswold Way

It was probably nearer to seven miles than six but the sun shone for the WI Wanderers walk from Hillesley. We started from The Fleece Inn which is a community pub where a number of villagers have bought shares in the pub in order to ensure its survival in the centre of the village.  The walk covers part of the Cotswold Way and the countryside is glorious. Our coffee stop (from a thermos flask not Costa!) took in a lovely view stretching across to the River Severn and the Forest of Dean.  The chat was non-stop except on the uphill stretches when we needed to conserve our energy! We enjoyed a good lunch in the pub's garden before making our way home - a group of tired but happy walkers.
