About Us
We currently have around 20 members of different backgrounds and ages.
We are committed in supporting our local community by participating in events such as the Platinum Jubilee Picnic in honour of Queen Elizabeth II, we made banners which decorated Beacon Hall and served refreshments.
We were also in attendance at the Parish Council celebration marking the coronation of King Charles III.
The Parish Council Older Persons Christmas Tea Party is another occasion we don our WI pinnies and do some waitressing!
The PSJ WI Poppy Display has become an annual fixture in the village, appearing in several locations and raising money for the Royal British Legion.
Due to demand for our crocheted and knitted poppies were added to the ones supplied by Royal British Legion for the 2023 appeal. We could not have succeeded in raising a total of £442.79 without the collaboration of The PSJ Wellbeing Group which kept us supplied. Surpassing our 2021 total of £224.97.
For 2024 we plan also to add purple poppies as remembrance to the many animals who have lost their lives in service and white poppies which are for peace.
Our Winter Fayres, which are held in November have been very successful with delicious cakes and refreshments and a fantastic range of beautiful and insipiring local gifts and products.
.
We have a Christmas wreath making workshop, usually held on a Sunday in December, date for 2024 is to be confirmed.
