November 2022 Meeting - Uke Lift Project

Julie introduced Danielle and John, both Ukulele teachers, who are part of the Uke Lift Project. They brought 40 ukuleles and issued one to everyone. They taught us some chords on the ukulele, and how to play a Polynesian love song, Lord Please Buy Me a Mercedes Benz by Janis Joplin, and We Will Rock You by Queen. What fabulous fun - laughter could be heard all around the room as we attempted to create music!

The Ukuleles for sale sheet is attached with the prices: If you would like to purchase a ukulele, please email me at info@ukelift.com and we can arrange a prepayment and collection from Bristol. Please note that I sell these cheaper than retail price and, in my opinion, are the best quality starter ukulele that won't hurt your fingers as much as other poor quality ukuleles will. If there are a few of your group members ordering ukuleles, perhaps we can arrange one pick up for all Marina WI Portishead ukuleles to save petrol and the environment. They are selling fast so if you would like one, please do get in touch soon.

Bristol Ukulele Festival: I am the organiser and founder of Bristol Ukulele Festival which takes place on July 1st, 2023 in Southville, Bristol at The Hen and Chicken venue. There will be many workshops and performances as well as a flash mob! Well worth coming along to for a full day of entertainment.
