Our Charities
We support the following charities. All of these charities help people from our local area.
- Martha's Kitchen - funds raised at our Christmas party
- Children’s Hospice South West - used stamps donation
- Multiple Sclerosis Therapy Centre - used stamps donation
Martha’s kitchen is open for families with children 0 to 11 years old who would benefit from a free cooked breakfast and a place to relax during school holidays. They meet weekly throughout school holidays and keep in regular contact with families in between times. They also provide children with books, read stories and have craft activities for the families.
We have given gift boxes (created by members) and cash donations to Next Link (who support women’s refuge).
We have given gift boxes to the International Seafarers Centre (a non-profit organisation supporting a community of male and female seafarers), and based in nearby Portbury Dock.
We encourage and support Portishead Food Bank.
We knit and sew for various charitable causes. Please refer to Needle & Natter for more information.
